Frequently Asked Questions

Microgreens are young, edible plants that are harvested just after the first true leaves have developed. They are larger than sprouts but smaller than baby greens and are known for their vibrant colors, intense flavors, and high nutritional content.

Microgreens are incredibly nutritious. Amazingly, they can contain many times the amount of micronutrients as their adult counterparts. They contain concentrated amounts of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, making them a valuable addition to a healthy diet.

Among these nutrients is the natural plant compound sulforaphane, which has been shown to have a range of potential health benefits, like reducing weight gain, alleviating the symptoms of asthma, and systematically alleviating cell damage.

Microgreens are versatile and can be used in a variety of ways. They can be added to salads, sandwiches, wraps, soups, smoothies, and even as garnishes on various dishes. Their delicate appearance makes them a great choice for adding visual interest to your creations.

We personally prefer to eat them raw in order to maximize their nutritional value, adding them to the end of cooking your meal in order to warm them up also works. However, that’s not to say you can’t bake or cook with them in other creative ways, as there are also benefits to that (easier to digest, making way for more antioxidants to come through).

While the process of harvesting microgreens into their container is totally clean, it’s always a good idea to wash them before eating. Simply rinse with cool water and enjoy.

Upon receiving your microgreens, simply store them in the fridge. You will find that they stay fresh for quite a while.

If you have any microgreens leftover that you’d like to save after washing, it is recommended that you store them back in their container with a piece of paper towel or a napkin inside. Keeping them dry and in the fridge will ensure a longer shelf life.
